The Simpler the Better

There’s a quote credited to author Antoine de Saint-Exupery that we refer to often here at Cronin Creative. To make sure I never forget, I have it written on a little piece of paper stuck to my computer. It says, “Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”

With our tagline, “Clarity by Design,” we default to simplicity on a regular basis. We also love the story about Ernest Hemingway that opens the article attached here. The famous author once won a bet by crafting this very sad, six-word story: “For Sale: Baby shoes, never worn,” proving that the shortest-and-simplest story can make the biggest impact. The article describes simplification as “the distillation of a complex problem or story down to the essential ideas.”

We’re down with that. Check out this short-and-simple article from design agency Emotive Brand here
